Incoming Email: works fine but error if try to change address or turn off

Hi

We've got incoming email on document libraries working fine.

If we try to go into a document library settings and turn off or edit the email address in incoming email settings then we just get a generic SharePoint error page.

Our configuration is as per this guide for using with Exchange 2007:

http://www.combined-knowledge.com/Downloads/How%20to%20configure%20Email%20Enabled%20Lists%20in%20Moss2007%20RTM%20using%20Exchange%202007.pdf

We're guessing a permission error somewhere but any ideas?

Thanks

Paul

Hi Paul,

I'm still doing a bit of research on the question, and should have a reply for you very soon. Thank you for your patience!

Hi Paul,

After reviewing the documentation, if you followed it, the setup steps are fine.  Since you've been getting a generic error, it could be a permission error, as you mentioned.

You will want to verify that DirMan is configured to create distribution groups and contacts.  Then, ensure the Central Admin Application Pool and the SharePoint Windows Services Timer service account is using the same account.

If this  doesn’t resolve the issue, you will need to review the SharePoint logs to see if there are any specific error messages.

Good luck, and hope this helps!
